SUSTAINABILITY

PRACTICES

The General Public sets out to practice sustainability in every facet of our operation. We believe that our operational procedures should mirror the ethics of the garments we create and carry. While operating as a small business, we strive to always improve in order to become even more environmentally conscious, especially as The General Public grows and evolves.

PACKAGING

The General Public prides itself on using packaging that is less harmful to the planet, whether that means using eco- friendly packaging or reusing packaging we receive inventory in, to then extend the life cycle of common packaging materials. In order to ensure our products are shipped with care, we use 100% recycled poly mailers and cardboard boxes made out of 100% recycled content, 95% post-consumer waste. The tissue paper we carefully wrap our products in is printed with soy-based inks on FSC-certified paper, that is acid, sulphur, and lignin free. The tissue is compostable and made of 100% recycled materials. The General Public strives to be conscious about everything we send your way, from the product to the packaging, and everything in between.

BRAND ETHOS

The General Public believes in sustainability, being mindful of the world we live in, and to give consumers a trusted place to purchase ethically made garments. As our climate crisis has accelerated, it is time to invest in garments wisely, and choose ethical and sustainable pieces. The General Public believes that in a time of fast fashion and quickly rotating trend cycles, investing in high quality, versatile, yet classic, pieces that are made with the wellbeing of the environment in mind, is how we should all begin to view what we wear. Sustainability and ethical manufacturing practices is the future, and we are proud to be a part of that journey.
